Lead Engineer- Data

Location: Copenhagen, Denmark; flexible remote work is offered.

What you will do

• Set the architectural direction of the data platform for analytics, product engineering, and AI/ML use cases.
• Design dbt models, semantic layers, validation, lineage, testing, and documentation standards.
• Own Dagster orchestration, observability, and scalable onboarding of new data sources.
• Build self-serve and AI-enabled analytics through semantic models, agentic workflows, and the BI layer.
• Develop historical and low-latency data foundations for predictive and real-time use cases.
• Improve platform reliability, performance, cost efficiency, compliance, and development environments.

Requirements

• Deep hands-on experience with Snowflake and dbt, including modelling, semantic layers, testing, performance, and cost tuning.
• Production experience with Dagster or a similar pipeline orchestrator such as Airflow or Prefect.
• Experience with Azure, AWS, or GCP; Kubernetes; Terraform; and containerised workloads.
• Strong SQL and Python skills for pipelines, services, and automation.
• Software engineering discipline covering CI/CD, testing, code review, incident response, cost management, and data privacy.
• Ability to explain technical trade-offs clearly to stakeholders and build trust in data systems.
