Sample Operations Manager (Life Sciences)

What you will do

• Oversee operational aspects of human specimen acquisition from commercial vendors and academic collaborators.
• Support Scientists on non-clinical projects involving human specimens, including technology evaluations, companion diagnostics development, assay validation, and disease biology.
• Coordinate with Legal, Contracts, and Procurement to execute contracts for specimen procurement and outsourced testing.
• Manage multiple projects from initial request through completion, including specimen receipt, outsourced testing, and final sample and data quality.
• Manage relationships with commercial laboratories, vendors, and academic collaborators.
• Apply current GCP, biobanking, and sample management policies and best practices.

Requirements

• BS/BA degree, preferably in engineering or science; a life sciences degree is preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of project management experience.
• Hands-on experience with human specimens such as blood or tissue and/or assay development.
• Experience with vendor management, alliance management, or business development.
• Knowledge of the operational, regulatory, and ethical aspects of biospecimen collection and banking in drug development.
• Strong organization, communication, negotiation, problem-solving, prioritization, and time-management skills.
