Payroll Specialist (France Payroll)

Location: Asturias, Spain; flexible home office opportunities are available.

What you will do

• Manage day-to-day payroll administration and operations for France.
• Coordinate payroll inputs, processing, validations, and outputs with payroll vendors and internal stakeholders.
• Validate payroll data, statutory calculations, social contributions, reporting, and country-specific requirements.
• Investigate payroll discrepancies, resolve exceptions, and support employee lifecycle events affecting payroll.
• Maintain French payroll documentation, process maps, controls, and standard operating procedures.
• Support testing, system updates, audits, governance, and payroll process improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Demonstrated experience supporting France payroll operations.
• Strong knowledge of French payroll legislation, tax requirements, social contributions, and statutory reporting.
• Experience with unionized or employee-representative environments, including collective bargaining agreements and Works Councils.
• Experience working with outsourced payroll providers or payroll vendors.
• Strong payroll controls, compliance, issue resolution, accuracy, and prioritization skills.
• Fluency in French and strong business English.

Nice to have

• Experience in manufacturing, food ingredients, specialty chemicals, life sciences, or industrial environments.
• Experience with ADP, TMF, Workday, or similar payroll and HR technology platforms.
• Experience supporting carve-outs, business separations, mergers, acquisitions, or transformation initiatives.
• Experience in multi-country payroll models or payroll process improvement and automation.
