TL;DR
Digital Content Engineer (Technical Documentation/XML/DITA): Designing and writing user instructions, technical data sheets, reference guides, and other product documentation for the Personal Safety Division with an accent on structured content authoring, information design, and documentation quality. Focus on collaborating with cross-functional teams, managing review cycles and product-line updates, and creating accurate, accessible technical content.
Location: Bracknell, Berkshire, United Kingdom; on-site at least four days per week

What you will do
- Design and write clear, accurate, user-focused instructional and reference documentation.
- Create user instructions, technical data sheets, quick reference guides, exploded product assemblies, technical publications, and related content.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather information and verify technical accuracy throughout product development.
- Apply XML/DITA authoring, publishing tools, and documentation standards to produce high-quality content.
- Manage documentation plans, review cycles, product-line updates, and improvements to document usability.
- Build knowledge of assigned products, audiences, and tools to support documentation initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in a science-based discipline.
- Previous experience working with technical content in academic, industry, private, public, government, or military environments.
- Experience with XML/DITA structured content authoring using a content management system such as AEM Guides.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to handle confidential technical information.
Nice to have
- Technical writing experience in an academic or industry setting.
- Experience with Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Cloud, SharePoint, FrameMaker, AEM Guides/Assets, Microsoft Forms, or Microsoft Teams.
- Experience creating and editing technical multimedia content, line drawings, or illustrations.
- Advanced knowledge of digital accessibility requirements and software.
