Registered Nurse, RN - Labor & Delivery (Healthcare)

Location: MelroseWakefield Hospital, Melrose, Massachusetts, United States; night shift, 7 p.m.–7 a.m., 36 hours per week, every third weekend.

Salary: $37.50–$75.32 per hour.

What you will do

• Provide direct professional nursing care to patients and families in a complex labor and delivery care area.
• Conduct and document clinical assessments and develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care.
• Apply nursing judgment to respond to changes in patient health status and coordinate discharge planning and referrals.
• Manage patient assignments, delegate appropriately, and collaborate with patients, families, physicians, and the healthcare team.
• Educate patients and families, support informed decisions and advance directives, and integrate evidence-based practice into care.
• Precept staff, support the transition of new team members, and participate in professional development and departmental committees.

Requirements

• Massachusetts RN licensure required.
• Current Basic Life Support certification required.
• At least one year of RN experience required; placement level is based on RN experience, education, and qualifications.
• Department-specific certifications relevant to the patient population may be required.
• Ability to apply the nursing process and communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and the healthcare team.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and occasionally lift or turn patients weighing 30–35 pounds.
