Network Systems Engineer (Pre-Sales) - Japan (Networking): Designing and presenting data center, campus, and Wi-Fi networking solutions for customers in Japan with an accent on leaf-spine architectures, VXLAN/EVPN overlays, and network automation. Focus on validating proof-of-concept deployments, solving complex routing and switching challenges, and advising customers on network architecture and competitive solutions.
Location: Tokyo, Japan; must be based in Tokyo and have valid legal work authorization in Japan

What you will do
- Provide pre-sales technical systems engineering support for customers in Japan.
- Partner with account managers to understand customer needs, conduct network architecture reviews, and present data center, campus, Wi-Fi, automation, security, and monitoring solutions.
- Architect, design, and propose data center and campus networks using leaf-spine architectures, VXLAN, EVPN, and network overlays.
- Test and validate customer proof-of-concept environments, network designs, deployments, products, and features.
- Respond to RFPs and RFQs with the sales team and recommend network improvements.
- Provide feedback to Product Management and Engineering, represent Arista at industry events, and author technical white papers.
Requirements
- BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Fluent or native Japanese language skills are mandatory.
- At least 5 years of L2/L3 networking design and implementation experience focused on data center, campus, and Wi-Fi solutions.
- Expert knowledge of routing and switching, including Ethernet, VLANs, IP routing, TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, eBGP, VXLAN, multicast, spanning tree, RSTP/MSTP, and QoS.
- Recent experience designing leaf-spine architectures and expert knowledge of industry-standard CLI.
- Experience as a Sales Engineer, Solutions Architect, Pre-Sales SE, or Network Consulting Engineer.
Nice to have
- Arista Cloud Engineer certification at levels 4–7.
- Experience with SDN, Network Function Virtualization, Python, and Ansible-based network automation.
- Knowledge of Cisco and Juniper competitive technologies.
- Experience writing white papers.
