Senior Engineer Field Ops (Aviation Datalink): Supporting and maintaining a Datalink service infrastructure, applications, networks, VHF stations, and radios across a Japanese customer environment with an accent on incident management, lifecycle operations, migrations, and service performance. Focus on providing 24x7 on-call support, coordinating upgrades and integrations, and solving operational challenges across customer sites and Japanese airports.
Location: Tokyo, Japan, with regular presence at the customer's operations office and Japanese airports. The role includes limited travel within Japan, Canada, Singapore, and Europe. Up to 30 days per year may be worked from any location globally as a company-wide flexibility benefit.

What you will do
- Support the implementation of a multi-year Datalink Service Provider solution for a Japanese customer.
- Integrate applications into the customer environment and participate in legacy-system migration activities.
- Provide roster-based office-hours support in Tokyo, including weekends, and 24x7 on-call support.
- Manage incidents, problems, root-cause analysis, preventive maintenance, changes, configurations, and deployments.
- Maintain and monitor platforms, networks, applications, VHF stations, and radios across customer premises and Japanese airports.
- Coordinate with customers, development teams, local suppliers, and third-party vendors on upgrades, testing, reporting, and service improvements.
Requirements
- 5–10 years of experience implementing or supporting complex applications, including multiple full-lifecycle implementations.
- Technical understanding of WAN/LAN infrastructure, Dell, Cisco, VMware, Windows, Linux, IBM WebSphere MQ, Oracle Database, and Microsoft SQL Server.
- Knowledge of VHF and radio systems.
- Excellent written and spoken English and Japanese, with strong documentation and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a multicultural global team and travel when required.
- University degree or equivalent in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a related discipline.

- Knowledge of aviation Datalink communication standards.
- Professional qualifications such as Cisco certification.
