Lead Software Engineer (TypeScript)

Location: New York City, NY, United States; hybrid schedule required with in-office days on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Core working hours target 9am–5pm EST. This role is not eligible for employment visa sponsorship.

Salary: $151,100–$234,000 annual base salary for the NYC range, plus eligibility for a performance-based bonus incentive plan.

What you will do

• Own the technical vision and architecture of a modern Assessment platform supporting B2B and B2C use cases.
• Architect and implement web and mobile applications using TypeScript, React, React Native, Flutter, and GraphQL.
• Define coding standards, architectural patterns, quality metrics, and engineering practices for scalable and maintainable systems.
• Lead technical design discussions, code reviews, technology decisions, and architectural trade-off analysis.
• Design CI/CD pipelines and contribute to DevSecOps, hosting, deployment, runtime, security, and reliability strategies.
• Partner with product managers, business stakeholders, engineering teams, security, infrastructure, and operations while mentoring engineers.

Requirements

• 10+ years of professional software development experience, including significant experience in senior, staff, or principal-level roles.
• Expert proficiency in TypeScript, Node.js, Next.js, React, React Native, Flutter, Swift, and Kotlin.
• Strong experience with GraphQL and REST APIs, database design and performance, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB.
• Experience building CI/CD pipelines, applying DevSecOps practices, and operating reliable, scalable production platforms.
• Knowledge of iOS and Android application delivery, release and store lifecycle management, event-driven systems, messaging, and queue-based architectures.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

• Advanced degree in a technical field.
• Experience with assessment or transaction-based systems, B2B APIs and portals, real-time or near-real-time video or communication platforms, and third-party SSO, payment, or eCommerce integrations.
