Senior Product Engineer (AI)

Location: Hybrid in Limassol, Cyprus; one day per week remotely.

What you will do

• Use AI coding agents to decompose engineering goals, build features across backend, web, Android, and iOS, and remain accountable for the resulting code.
• Shape product solutions with product managers by challenging assumptions, evaluating alternatives, and defining scope.
• Design systems under scale, latency, cost, and mobile constraints using measurable technical reasoning.
• Build backend services, client features, and automated tests across the surfaces involved in each feature.
• Roll out features, monitor production behavior, and measure their impact on users.
• Establish workflows and guardrails for agentic development and share them with the wider engineering organization.

Requirements

• Daily hands-on experience using AI coding agents in production, with the judgment to assess their risks, limitations, and suitability.
• Backend strength and the ability to work across web, Android, iOS, and automated testing; experience shipping with unfamiliar languages, frameworks, or platforms.
• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience on products with real users.
• Experience designing and operating high-load distributed systems, including microservices, REST APIs, storage, caching, and asynchronous architectures.
• Strong foundations in algorithms, data structures, concurrency, and performance.
• English proficiency at Intermediate level or higher.

Nice to have

• Experience building agentic workflows, custom agents, MCP servers, evaluation harnesses, or context-engineering practices.
• Java 17+ and Spring Boot, or strong backend experience in another language.
• Client-side feature development and automated testing across multiple surfaces.
• Experience with live streaming, video, high-scale consumer products, moderation, fintech, or communication platforms.
• Aerospike, Docker, Kubernetes, GCP, or BigQuery experience.
