Site Reliability Engineer, Edge Services - USDS (CDN)

Location: Seattle, United States; fully in-person schedule up to 5 days a week

Salary: $129,960–$246,240 annually, plus potential discretionary bonuses, incentives, and restricted stock units.

What you will do

• Architect and implement solutions for internal and external customers using TikTok’s content delivery network.
• Build and maintain data pipelines, tools, automations, visualizations, monitors, and alerting for edge services.
• Monitor data quality, detect anomalies, and improve issue detection and response.
• Analyze system-level bottlenecks and implement solutions to improve edge service performance, scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency.
• Document operational processes, policies, engagement methods, and service-level objectives.
• Participate in technical operations rotations responding to performance and reliability issues.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field with 2+ years of experience, or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of experience in CDN performance and traffic engineering, network solution architecture, or network-focused site reliability engineering.
• Experience with TCP/IP, BGP, DNS, and other networking technologies in a carrier-grade environment, plus CDN technologies.
• 2+ years of programming experience with Java, C++, Go, Shell, or Python.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to solve real-world problems in a fast-moving environment.
• Ability to work on-site in Seattle up to 5 days per week.

Nice to have

• Experience operating in a multi-CDN environment.
• Understanding of IPv6 and IPv4–IPv6 coexistence technologies.
• Experience designing, analyzing, and building automation and tools for large-scale systems.
• Ability to work independently with ambiguity and move projects from concept to delivery.
