Chicago Internal Audit and Financial Advisory Intern - 2027

Location: Chicago, United States. Hybrid work combines in-person and remote work, with work in local hirify.global offices and on client sites. Interns must be available to work in the designated location during business hours for the entire internship and may travel locally or out of state based on project needs.

Salary: $28–$38 per hour.

What you will do

• Collaborate with client-facing teams to address complex business and technology challenges.
• Support business process audit and advisory work, including process improvement, risk mitigation, control monitoring, testing, security, and corporate governance.
• Support technology audit and advisory engagements covering cybersecurity, AI risk, data governance, cloud, privacy, software development, resilience, and technology governance.
• Analyze data and information in different formats to identify insights and actionable conclusions.
• Apply AI, analytics, and automation tools to improve delivery quality and efficiency.
• Participate in training, client projects, internal initiatives, and professional development activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in accounting, computer science, data science, engineering, finance, information systems, information technology, management information systems, or a related field.
• Must be within one year of final graduation at the time of the internship.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States for hirify.global without sponsorship now or in the future.
• Advanced verbal and written communication skills, critical thinking, innovation, and effective collaboration.
• Technical proficiency relevant to the assigned capability area, including data analysis and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and in teams, learn from feedback, and pursue professional certifications.

Nice to have

• Experience with internal audit processes, frameworks, emerging technologies, and audit objectives.
• Experience with Power BI or other data visualization tools.
• Entry-level knowledge of software development practices and methodologies.
• Interest in Alteryx, Microsoft Power Platform, Python, advanced analytics, and automation.
