Manufacturing Engineer, Staff (Nitinol)

Location: Fremont, United States; manufacturing floor and office environment. Travel up to 10% as needed.

Salary: $103,900–$173,100 per year.

What you will do

• Provide daily engineering support for Nitinol melting, casting, and downstream material processing operations.
• Troubleshoot process, material, and equipment issues to reduce downtime and scrap.
• Develop and maintain work instructions, process specifications, and other manufacturing documentation.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives to improve process capability, yield, throughput, and cost efficiency using Lean and Six Sigma methods.
• Support new Nitinol material and process transfers, scale-up, manufacturability assessments, and production readiness.
• Execute process validation activities and collaborate with Operations, Quality, R&D, and Supply Chain.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Metallurgical Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of manufacturing engineering experience, preferably in a regulated environment such as medical devices or aerospace.
• Experience with metals processing; Nitinol or specialty alloys is strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of melting, heat treatment, forming, machining, or finishing processes.
• Experience with statistical analysis and data-driven problem solving, including tools such as Minitab.
• Familiarity with IQ/OQ/PQ process validation and the ability to interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
