Location: Auckland, New Zealand; projects support multiple sites in New Zealand and the USA.

What you will do
- Lead engineers delivering projects across production tooling, ground support equipment, and test and launch infrastructure.
- Serve as a technical decision maker for design for manufacturing, testing, quality control, risk assessment, and productivity.
- Plan resources and prioritize capital projects to introduce capabilities and improve existing infrastructure as production and launch cadence scale.
- Collaborate with teams across the Neutron program on development, production, testing, and operations.
- Deliver projects across multiple sites in New Zealand and the USA.
- Mentor, coach, develop, and recruit engineering talent.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, aerospace, manufacturing engineering, or a related technical field.
- 6+ years of engineering design experience.
- At least 1 year of experience in engineering management, team management, project management, or a similar role.
- Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment.
- New Zealand applicants undergo background and nationality checks because the role involves access to equipment and data regulated by U.S. ITAR.
- For New Zealand office roles, eligibility may depend on citizenship of Australia, Japan, New Zealand, Switzerland, the European Union, or a NATO member country, subject to ITAR restrictions.
Nice to have
- Experience designing large tooling, equipment, structures, launch pad systems, or systems for oil and gas, process, or mining industries.
- Familiarity with NASA, ASME, ASTM, IEC, or AS/NZS standards.
- Working knowledge of Siemens NX and Teamcenter.
- Experience with Jira, Confluence, structural analysis, hand calculations, FEA, process and instrumentation diagrams, or wiring diagrams.
