Budget Analyst (Junior Level)

What you will do

• Maintain accurate and complete budget execution documents, recurring spending reports, and forecasts at program and component levels.
• Collect, validate, and update financial execution data in the budget execution database, including contract funding, payment and invoice reconciliation, and closeout activities.
• Conduct program budget execution reviews and analyze spending and component requirements.
• Prepare, coordinate, and transmit funding documents and produce briefing charts.
• Monitor major program contracts and provide data or recommendations for funding decisions.
• Support the development and implementation of requirement validation and prioritization processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in mathematics, engineering, business, or the sciences.
• At least 24 hours of college-level quantitative coursework, including calculus.
• Strong verbal communication, writing, and quantitative analytical skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• U.S. citizenship required; ability to obtain and maintain a Secret and/or Top Secret security clearance required.

Nice to have

• Working knowledge of DoD financial systems such as CRIS, SCRT, CCaR, ABSS, and MOCAS.
• Knowledge of DoD acquisition and budgeting, Air Force financial management, accounting and payment systems, and reimbursable funds management.
• Analytical experience supporting senior DoD management and budgeting or programming processes.
• Experience developing or improving products and processes to enhance operations.
