Senior Government Affairs Manager (Healthcare): Advancing federal healthcare policy through direct lobbying, congressional relationship management, and collaboration with patient, provider, policy, and business stakeholders with an accent on legislative advocacy and managed care issues. Focus on influencing regulatory developments, educating internal audiences about congressional processes, and representing healthcare priorities at policy and fundraising events.

Location: Remote from the United States; in-office presence at the Washington, DC office is required during periods when Congress is in session.

Salary: $107,700–$199,300 per year.

What you will do

  • Build and maintain relationships with Members of Congress, Congressional Committees, Caucuses, and congressional staff.
  • Conduct federal lobbying with policymakers, federal agencies, healthcare organizations, patient organizations, and provider organizations.
  • Represent organizational priorities in forums led by trade associations and strategic partners.
  • Collaborate with Policy and Medicaid, Medicare, and Marketplace business colleagues to align advocacy priorities.
  • Represent the organization at congressional fundraisers, including early morning, evening, and weekend events.
  • Educate internal audiences about congressional processes, legislation, and political issues through written and oral presentations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 5+ years of progressive healthcare experience and/or healthcare policy experience.
  • Strong written communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively and support day-to-day functions directed by department leadership.
  • Established Congressional relationships and a track record of advocacy through engagement with policymakers, patient organizations, and provider organizations are preferred.
  • Managed care industry experience and/or Congressional, Executive Branch, or federal agency experience is preferred.
