AI Cybersecurity Director (AI)

Location: Hybrid in Denver, Colorado or Ashburn, Virginia, with 3 days onsite and 2 flexible days per week

Salary: $195,000–$210,000 USD annually

What you will do

• Establish enterprise governance for unauthorized or shadow AI across business units.
• Define and enforce security architecture standards for AI, ML, and LLM platforms across cloud, hybrid, on-premises, and OT-adjacent environments.
• Oversee security design for data pipelines, model hosting, inference paths, APIs, integrations, applications, agents, and workflows.
• Develop AI-specific threat models, risk registers, monitoring requirements, incident response playbooks, and SOC/SIEM integration.
• Enforce data protection, segmentation, least privilege, encryption, logging, retention, deletion, explainability, traceability, and output validation controls.
• Safeguard OT and critical infrastructure by prohibiting autonomous AI control, validating read-only and one-way data flows, and maintaining manual overrides.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity, computer science, data science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least 10 years of experience in cybersecurity, security architecture, or risk engineering.
• Hands-on experience securing data pipelines, APIs, cloud platforms, and analytics or ML-enabled systems.
• Strong knowledge of identity and access management, encryption, logging, threat modeling, and secure system design.
• Fluent, bilingual, or near-native English proficiency required.
• Strong communication skills for working with executives, engineers, and cross-functional stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience securing AI/ML platforms, LLMs, or analytics pipelines.
• Cloud security experience with Azure, AWS, GCP, or SaaS-based AI platforms.
• Experience with OT, critical infrastructure, or safety-critical environments.
• CISSP, CCSP, CISM, or cloud security certifications.
