Senior Merchant, Soft Wovens

Location: New York, NY; based in the NY office

Base salary: $110,000–$115,000 annually, plus benefits, a short-term incentive program, clothing allowance, and merchandise discounts.

What you will do

• Create seasonal line plans for the soft wovens category, including dresses, tops, and skirts.
• Analyze weekly, monthly, and seasonal sales data to assess performance and identify opportunities.
• Translate hindsight reporting, competitive analysis, and trend research into forward-looking merchandising strategies.
• Develop product knowledge for store and e-commerce teams and provide seasonal merchandising guidance.
• Oversee DTC buying across retail and e-commerce channels to achieve sales and margin targets.
• Partner with Design, Sales, Production, Planning, and Marketing while managing and coaching an Assistant Merchant.

Requirements

• 7+ years of merchandising experience, preferably with a strong background in soft wovens.
• Knowledge of the marketplace and a history of ready-to-wear sales.
• Strong understanding of fabrics, fit, construction, and other aspects of the fashion industry.
• Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and reporting skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Passion for product and brand storytelling.
