TL;DR
Portfolio Management, Analyst/Associate (Private Equity): Constructing, implementing, and monitoring customized private equity portfolios while assessing investment allocations and compliance with client objectives and constraints with an accent on portfolio construction, investment diligence, and cross-functional coordination. Focus on documenting allocation rationales, running investment committee meetings, tracking execution through closing and funding, and preparing customized client portfolio materials.

Location: New York, New York, United States; hybrid schedule with office attendance required on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays

Annual base salary: $100,000–$130,000 USD, with potential discretionary bonus and comprehensive benefits.

What you will do

  • Review private market investment opportunities and determine preliminary and final appetite and allocations based on program objectives and firm policies.
  • Test investments against approved guidelines, document compliance, and confirm completion of client-specific protocols.
  • Monitor portfolio construction plans and ensure client programs remain aligned with applicable objectives and constraints.
  • Coordinate investment execution across teams, including diligence, closing and funding schedules, and communication of participating programs and amounts.
  • Run weekly investment committee meetings and participate in department and investment team meetings.
  • Prepare periodic client portfolio updates, customized deliverables, and materials for special investment process or strategic projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field with a superior GPA.
  • 1–3 years of experience in investment, operations, or accounting within an asset management or top-tier public accounting firm.
  • Broad investment and capital markets knowledge, with familiarity with alternative investments and private equity strategies.
  • Highly proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, with experience using Power BI.
  • Superior written and verbal communication, organization, decision-making, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, changing environment while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.

  • Specific knowledge of the private equity industry and a broad range of private equity strategies.
  • Exposure to AI and enthusiasm for using AI-enabled tools such as Claude and ChatGPT to improve productivity, workflows, and business intelligence.
