Focus on extracting clinical concepts from notes with Databricks SQL and regex, investigating data-source veracity, and producing peer-reviewed research analyses.
Location: Seattle, WA, United States. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States for any employer.
Hourly rate: $40–$60 per hour.

What you will do
- Scope analysis requests and deliver studies and results using SQL, R, and Python within agreed deadlines.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and customers to produce high-quality research analyses and peer-reviewed publications.
- Write regex queries in Databricks SQL to extract clinical concepts from clinical notes.
- Create enablement materials to help researchers use the evolving platform.
- Investigate data sources with other teams and demonstrate data veracity to customers.
Requirements
- Undergraduate or graduate-level education in clinical research, data analysis, clinical informatics, or a related field.
- Experience working with large databases containing data from millions of patients.
- 3+ years of experience analyzing Electronic Health Record or other Real World Data using SQL, R, and Python.
- At least 2 years of experience working with customers to deliver research analyses.
- Ability to learn new coding languages, including proprietary internal languages, and adapt quickly in a dynamic startup environment.
- United States work authorization is required; visa or work permit sponsorship is not available.
Nice to have
- Regex query writing experience.
- Experience with statistics, regression, propensity score matching, Kaplan-Meier analyses, or survival analyses.
- Spark or PySpark experience.
