TL;DR
LCMS Associate Scientist II (Mass Spectrometry): Conducting cell-based and analytical assays for pharmaceutical and biotech research services with an accent on mass spectrometry, cell culture, bioassays, and compliant laboratory operations. Focus on developing and optimizing methods, analyzing and QC-reviewing data, maintaining BSL2 workflows, and supporting R&D projects with minimal supervision.

Location: St. Charles, Missouri, USA; onsite laboratory role within commuting distance, Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., with overtime as needed.

What you will do

  • Perform cell-based and analytical assays for ADME toxicology, ion channel, translational biology, cell and gene therapy, and large molecule services.
  • Maintain cell cultures in a BSL2 laboratory using aseptic technique and cleanroom guidelines.
  • Prepare and manage buffers, reagents, media, and laboratory materials.
  • Perform calculations, data analysis, QC review, and project report support.
  • Support mid-size laboratory R&D projects, method development, equipment maintenance, and production assays.
  • Communicate project updates, train colleagues or external users, and provide cross-functional support.

Requirements

  • B.A. or B.S. with at least 2 years of relevant experience, or M.A. or M.S. with at least 1 year of relevant experience.
  • Experience with in vitro enzymatic assays, HPLC, GC coupled with mass spectrometry, ELISA, high-content imaging, electrophysiology, or flow cytometry.
  • Experience in a contract research organization and in GLP or cGMP laboratory services.
  • Experience with method development and optimization, automation, robotics, HTS applications, and recombinant cell-line development.
  • Experience with documentation, laboratory record-keeping, data interpretation, troubleshooting, and scientific report QC.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.
