Junior Software Engineer, Debugger for Secure Embedded Systems (m/f/d)

What you will do

• Collaborate with senior colleagues across the full lifecycle of debuggers for secure embedded microcontrollers, including specification, development, testing, verification, documentation, and maintenance.
• Build expertise in trace and code coverage for secure embedded systems.
• Work with internal hardware and software development teams to analyze and fix customer-reported or test-detected issues.
• Contribute to improvements in software development, quality, and testing methodologies.
• Perform security-related tasks that may fall within the scope of security certifications.

Requirements

• University degree in electronics, applied mathematics, computer science, or a related field.
• Understanding of embedded software development tools such as GDB or OpenOCD.
• Knowledge of microcontroller architecture.
• Programming skills in C, C++, and Python.
• Ability to collaborate and communicate efficiently across technical domains, locations, and cultures.
• Conscious and reliable working practices are required for security-related assignments and certification activities.

Nice to have

• Assembly programming.
• RISC-V architecture.
• JTAG interfacing and debug targets such as FPGAs.
• Trace and code coverage.
• Rust programming.
