Associate Scientist, Analytical & Purification Chemistry

Location: Cambridge, MA, USA; onsite at a client site in Boston, MA. Candidates should live within a commutable range of Cambridge. Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm, with overtime as needed.

Compensation: $31-$34 per hour

What you will do

• Purify medicinal chemistry compounds in a high-throughput automated environment.
• Develop and optimize purification methods for specific compounds and compound classes.
• Operate and troubleshoot laboratory and open-access instrumentation.
• Analyze complex mixtures and develop separation methods.
• Introduce new methodologies and technologies supporting compound purification and laboratory operations.
• Consult with medicinal chemists, participate in chemistry team discussions, and present results to chemistry and project teams.

Requirements

• Master’s degree or equivalent in Chemistry, Biology, or a related science with 0-1 years of relevant experience, or a bachelor’s degree with 1-2 years of relevant experience.
• Experience with HPLC and/or SFC method development for preparative-scale purification.
• Ability to generate and interpret mass spectrometry data.
• Knowledge of liquid handlers and other laboratory automation.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and targets simultaneously, with strong attention to detail and a customer-oriented approach.
• Authorization to work indefinitely in the United States without sponsorship is required.
