Associate Financial Analyst III

Location: Bangalore, Karnataka, India; hybrid work model with an expectation of at least three days per week in the office

What you will do

• Manage quarterly Life & Health projections, review variances against actuals and plan, and provide data-driven insights to management.
• Collaborate with Finance Operations, Valuation & Analysis, Underwriting, Client Markets, FP&A, and Pricing teams on deal pipelines, renewals, portfolios, and planning.
• Communicate performance metrics and translate complex financial data into clear insights for non-finance stakeholders.
• Support IFRS17 implementation, ledger closing, financial reporting, and analysis of IFRS business results.
• Analyze market, client, underwriting, and portfolio performance, identifying and explaining key performance drivers.
• Support the carve-out of annual plan numbers and respond to emerging analytical requests.

Requirements

• CA, CFA, or MBA in Finance, or a university degree in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Finance, or an equivalent discipline.
• At least 7 years of experience in FP&A; experience in Life and Health reinsurance or the insurance industry is strongly preferred.
• Solid knowledge of financial reporting processes and familiarity with GAAP, IFRS, and EVM accounting frameworks.
• Strong proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Access, including the ability to process large datasets.
• Strong analytical, data-processing, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a global, multicultural, fast-paced environment and under tight deadlines.

Nice to have

• Understanding of insurance products, risk selection, and risk-reward frameworks.
• Actuarial education and familiarity with income statements, balance sheets, and source of earnings concepts.
