Location: Portland, Oregon, United States; hybrid work with office attendance typically three times per week, Tuesday–Thursday

Salary: $96,600–$130,400 per year in Portland, Oregon

What you will do

  • Lead color design execution for priority lifestyle footwear projects.
  • Develop seasonal color solutions, palettes, and application strategies aligned with creative direction.
  • Support new creation, product refresh, optioning strategies, collaborations, and SMU projects.
  • Manage multiple creation calendars and contribute to seasonal design and category-level color direction.
  • Partner with product, material, digital design, development, merchandising, and marketing teams to deliver cohesive product stories.
  • Explore unbriefed opportunities that advance HOKA expression and innovation in color.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in industrial design, product design, or a related field.
  • 6–8 years of footwear color design experience, focused on lifestyle or performance categories.
  • Advanced knowledge of color theory, color application, and storytelling in footwear.
  • Strong understanding of footwear construction, materials, upper and tooling interaction, and product processes.
  • Ability to translate trends and consumer insights into product-relevant color strategies.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, PowerPoint, Miro, or Lucid, plus a portfolio demonstrating color direction and product execution.

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with generative AI platforms such as Midjourney or Vizcom.
