Principal Medical Writer (Medical Communications)

Location: United States; hybrid work schedule with remote work indicated. Travel to events and meetings for 1–3 days quarterly on average.

Compensation: $95,000–$105,000 per year, depending on qualifications, with eligibility for an annual bonus or commission incentive.

What you will do

• Develop scientific content for print and event deliverables aimed at healthcare professionals.
• Conduct literature reviews covering disease states, therapeutic advances, and clinical data.
• Review, edit, annotate, and fact-check content for accuracy, consistency, relevance, and style compliance.
• Coordinate with clients, key opinion leaders, reviewers, project management, creative services, and other internal stakeholders.
• Prepare and revise materials throughout pharmaceutical promotional and medical/legal/regulatory review processes.
• Attend consensus meetings and professional conferences, produce executive summaries or manuscripts, and mentor writers and editors.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience at a medical communications agency or company.
• Advanced healthcare-related degree preferred, such as MD, DO, PharmD, PhD, or MS in life sciences or biomedical sciences.
• Superior verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to multitask, manage multiple timelines, solve problems, and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency in AMA style and in-house editorial standards.
• Ability to travel for events and meetings 1–3 days quarterly on average.
