Manufacturing Engineer (Medical Devices)

Location: Athens, Texas, United States; less than 5% travel required

What you will do

• Provide process engineering support for the development and manufacture of medical device products.
• Evaluate product designs for manufacturability and collaborate with engineering, planning, design, and production teams.
• Develop and implement cost-saving, yield-improvement, scrap-reduction, and process-efficiency initiatives.
• Analyze workforce utilization, space requirements, workflows, equipment layouts, production times, staffing needs, and costs.
• Perform root cause analysis, troubleshoot manufacturing issues, and implement corrective actions to improve quality and reliability.
• Lead cross-functional projects involving process qualification, equipment upgrades, automation, and new equipment purchases.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering.
• 3–5 years of related manufacturing engineering experience.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Minitab, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project.
• Working knowledge of MRP systems, production planning, manufacturing methods, and cost or yield improvement techniques.
• Experience with statistical process control, design of experiments, and structured problem-solving techniques.
• Experience designing, reviewing, executing, and approving IQ/OQ/PQ qualification protocols and reports.

• Lean Manufacturing experience.
