Associate Security Architect (Cybersecurity)

Location: Madrid, Spain; hybrid work from home and office premises

Base salary: EUR 41,000–68,000 per year for a full-time role, plus potential performance-based bonus and benefits.

What you will do

• Support senior and enterprise security architects with architecture reviews, security advisory activities, and governance assessments.
• Review security requirements, solution designs, architecture blueprints, and implementation approaches for applications, platforms, cloud services, and integration patterns.
• Help define, document, and maintain security standards, reusable patterns, requirements, and architecture decision records.
• Collaborate with security and technology teams to clarify expectations and promote practical security-by-design adoption.
• Track, analyse, and document security architecture observations for maturity assessments, roadmap discussions, and continuous improvement.
• Continue developing cybersecurity and architecture expertise while sharing insights with the team.

Requirements

• Approximately 2–3 years of relevant cybersecurity experience.
• Experience or foundational knowledge in areas such as identity and access management, secure design, network security, application security, cloud security, data protection, vulnerability management, or risk-based decision-making.
• Familiarity with industry security frameworks, standards, or control practices, ideally in regulated environments.
• Ability to analyse technical information, document findings clearly, and translate guidance into practical recommendations.
• Collaborative, curious, proactive, and integrity-driven approach to learning and problem-solving.
• Excellent written and spoken English required.

Nice to have

• Degree, apprenticeship, or comparable practical experience in information security, computer science, or a related field.
• Entry-level or practitioner certifications such as Microsoft Security, ISC2 Certified in Cybersecurity, CompTIA Security+, CCSP, or SANS GIAC.
• Exposure to architecture documentation, security risk assessment, threat modelling, secure software development, or cloud security reviews.
