Sr. Manager, Indirect Tax VAT (VAT)

Location: Amsterdam, Netherlands; hybrid model with three days per week in the Amsterdam office and two days from home. The role also includes up to 20 additional days per year working from anywhere.

hirify.global's European Indirect Tax team manages VAT and related indirect tax responsibilities across multiple European countries.

What you will do

• Ensure VAT compliance requirements are met across VAT registrations in 15 European countries, working with outsourced compliance partner KPMG.
• Partner with European Finance teams to manage balance sheet items and maintain tax compliance.
• Manage tax authority and audit relationships and monitor, review, and implement VAT and indirect tax developments.
• Guide P2P, ITC, logistics, and other functions on VAT-related processes.
• Support ERP updates, tax engine implementation, e-invoicing, process improvement, and data quality programs.
• Provide technical expertise on complex transactions, projects, business queries, CBAM, customs, and Plastic Packaging Tax.

Requirements

• EU working permit required; Orientation Year Visa is not accepted.
• At least 7 years of indirect tax experience.
• Proven knowledge of VAT, other indirect taxes, and customs, including experience working with internal and external VAT consultants.
• Accounting knowledge, preferably SAP system knowledge, and strong Excel skills.
• Ability to work independently in a dynamic organization and adapt to change.
• Fluent English required.
