Data Scientist (AI/ML)

Location: On-site in Arlington, Virginia, United States. Applicants must be authorized to work full-time in the United States. Occasional travel of up to 10% is required.

Salary: $89,000–$202,000 per year.

What you will do

• Train, fine-tune, benchmark, validate, and prepare AI/ML models for production deployment.
• Analyze complex datasets, identify patterns, select algorithms, and develop feature engineering approaches.
• Design testing procedures, tune hyperparameters, and ensure model accuracy, performance, and explainability.
• Create visualizations, document methodologies and results, and help stakeholders interpret model outputs.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts and AI/ML engineers on domain knowledge, deployment, data governance, and research initiatives.
• Mentor junior data scientists and evaluate emerging data science methods.

Requirements

• SECRET security clearance required.
• Bachelor’s degree and 0+ years of experience, depending on level: Junior (0–3), Journeyman (4–7), or Senior (8+).
• Relevant security certification required by level: CCSP, CFR, FITSP-M, GSEC, Security+, or SSCP for Junior/Journeyman roles; SecurityX/CASP+, GCSA, GSLC, or CISSP for Senior roles.
• Professional proficiency in English and current authorization to work full-time in the United States are required. Visa sponsorship is not available.
• Strong communication skills, a self-starter mindset, and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to sit at a computer for extended periods and perform required office and occasional loud-noise environment duties.
