Backend Developer (Java/Kotlin)

Location: Minsk, Belarus — onsite at the employer's workplace

Salary: $600–$3,500 net per month

What you will do

• Develop backend solutions for sports analytics, gambling, and esports projects.
• Build services with Java or Kotlin using frameworks such as Ktor, Spring, Quarkus, or similar.
• Work with PostgreSQL, Redis, ClickHouse, and other data storage technologies.
• Integrate message-driven workflows with Kafka and support containerized deployments.
• Contribute to Git-based development and CI/CD processes.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of backend development experience with Java or Kotlin.
• Experience with at least one backend framework, including Ktor, Spring, Quarkus, Axon Framework, Akka, Micronaut, or Play Framework.
• Understanding of OOP, SOLID principles, and design patterns.
• Experience with Gradle or Maven and Git or Mercurial.
• Basic knowledge of Docker and the Linux command line.

Nice to have

• Experience with NoSQL databases such as Redis, Cassandra, ScyllaDB, or ClickHouse.
• Experience with Apache Kafka, GraphQL, Docker Swarm, or Kubernetes.
• Experience writing tests with Kotest, MockK, or Testcontainers.
• Knowledge of GitLab CI/CD, DDD principles, and Event Sourcing.
