TL;DR
Senior Accounting Officer (FinTech): Overseeing complex accounting operations and financial reporting for an internationally regulated trading business with an accent on IFRS, reconciliations, VAT reporting, and technical journal entries. Focus on reviewing month-end close activities, coordinating external audits, strengthening internal controls, and guiding junior accounting staff.
Location: On-site in Limassol, Cyprus; Monday to Friday, 09:00–17:00
Gross annual salary: €36,000–€38,000, depending on experience

What you will do
- Oversee and review daily bookkeeping, supplier invoices, bank transactions, customer invoicing, and supplier reconciliations.
- Prepare and review complex journal entries, including amortization, depreciation, and right-of-use assets.
- Review bank reconciliations, bank balance reports, client funds reconciliations, and month-end accounting reports.
- Prepare VAT return supporting schedules and support statutory financial statement preparation.
- Coordinate external auditor and business partner requests, resolving accounting queries.
- Guide junior accounting staff, improve processes, strengthen internal controls, and support ad hoc accounting projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in a similar accounting role, preferably in an international or regulated financial services firm.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and month-end and year-end close processes.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including complex formulas and spreadsheet modelling.
- Experience reviewing and guiding junior accounting staff, with strong organization and deadline-management skills.
- Excellent written and spoken English required.
Nice to have
- Experience with Xero, Oracle, or similar accounting/ERP systems.
- Experience in forex, CFD brokerage, or broader financial services.
