Principal AI/ML Software Engineer

Location: Galway, Ireland; remote and hybrid work model

Salary: €83,520–€125,280 per year, plus eligibility for a short-term incentive plan

What you will do

• Provide technical leadership for the design, development, deployment, and operationalization of machine learning and computer vision solutions.
• Explore data, engineer features, develop models, run experiments, and apply robust validation and evaluation methods.
• Build end-to-end ML pipelines covering data ingestion, training, validation, deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement.
• Develop scalable, maintainable, and testable Python software, APIs, services, and batch-processing pipelines.
• Implement cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, model retraining automation, monitoring, observability, versioning, and lifecycle management.
• Partner with data engineers, software engineers, product teams, and domain experts to shape AI platform architecture and technical direction.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with at least 7 years, master’s degree with 5 years, or PhD with 3 years of relevant experience.
• At least 7 years of experience developing, deploying, and maintaining machine learning models in production.
• Strong expertise in machine learning, statistical methods, data science, and model evaluation.
• Strong Python skills and experience building scalable, maintainable, and testable software systems.
• Experience with ML pipelines, cloud-based deployment workflows, CI/CD, and model lifecycle management.
• Role based in Ireland, with remote and hybrid work options.

Nice to have

• 8+ years of experience deploying machine learning models in production.
• 8+ years of experience developing computer vision solutions and working with large-scale datasets.
• Experience with scalable data processing, distributed computing, or large-scale machine learning systems.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, monitoring, and observability for ML services.
