Underwriting Coordinator, Facultative (Reinsurance)

Location: Kansas City, Missouri, US; hybrid work with at least three days per week in the office. The position is not eligible for full-time telework, relocation assistance, or visa sponsorship.

Estimated base salary: $52,000–$78,000 per year, plus applicable total compensation components.

What you will do

• Support Facultative Underwriters with non-client-facing operational activities.
• Enter and clear submission risk data and maintain accurate information across systems.
• Track policies, follow up on missing documentation, and manage business records.
• Assist with planning and reporting through data gathering and entry.
• Maintain guidelines, archiving, and storage processes for facultative risks.
• Identify inconsistencies, resolve information gaps, and contribute to process improvements.

Requirements

• Proven experience in the reinsurance or insurance industry, preferably in operations, underwriting support, or business services.
• Understanding of submissions handling, policy documentation, and reinsurance workflows.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately with complex information.
• Ability to use sound judgment, logic, and common sense in decision-making.
• Experience maintaining organized data across multiple systems and resolving inconsistencies.
• Strong ownership, accountability, communication, customer focus, and service orientation.

Nice to have

• Willingness to share knowledge and act as a reference point for less experienced team members.
• Experience identifying process gaps and contributing to operational improvements.
