Senior Cybersecurity Engineer (Cloud Security)

Location: Remote, associated with São Paulo, Brazil. The role does not require duties to be performed near a hirify.global office, but scheduled office presence may occasionally be required with notice.

What you will do

• Monitor and improve the security posture of cloud environments and supporting infrastructure.
• Investigate security alerts, suspicious activity, vulnerabilities, and cloud security incidents.
• Review cloud architectures and embed secure-by-design principles into services and infrastructure.
• Strengthen privileged access management, least-privilege controls, authentication, authorization, and credential management.
• Implement automated security controls in CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code practices, and compliance monitoring.
• Support audits, risk assessments, client security assessments, and remediation planning while mentoring junior analysts.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of relevant experience with a bachelor's degree, 2 years with an advanced degree, or 8 years of relevant experience without the degree pathway.
• At least 5 years of experience in cloud security, cybersecurity, security engineering, infrastructure security, or security operations.
• Hands-on experience securing AWS environments, including network security, IAM, encryption, logging, monitoring, and security services.
• Knowledge of cloud-native security, Kubernetes and container security, infrastructure as code, DevSecOps, threat detection, incident response, and vulnerability management.
• Experience with cloud security assessments, risk assessments, security control reviews, audit readiness, and compliance validation.
• Knowledge of ISO 27001, PCI DSS, SOC 1, SOC 2, CIS Controls, and the NIST Cybersecurity Framework.

Nice to have

• Experience with multiple cloud providers, including AWS, Azure, and GCP.
• AWS Certified Security – Specialty or AWS Solutions Architect certification.
• Azure Security Engineer Associate, CISSP, CCSP, CISM, CRISC, or GIAC certification.
• Experience in banking, payments, fintech, or other highly regulated industries.
