R&D Tax Manager

Location: Seattle, Washington, USA; candidate must be tied to a hirify.global office location. Seattle is highly preferred, with West Coast locations also considered.

Salary: $100,340–$190,240 national annual pay range. California range: $111,490–$190,240.

What you will do

• Manage R&D tax credit and deduction studies, including client interviews, data review, technical reports, and client-specific tools and templates.
• Research and draft technical memoranda related to R&D tax matters.
• Provide audit defense assistance for clients reviewed by the IRS or state taxing authorities.
• Develop functional expertise in clients’ businesses and advise CFOs, owners, and middle-market leaders.
• Manage engagement staffing, billings, collections, and client profitability targets.
• Build client and community relationships and support the growth and development of associates.

Requirements

• Four-year degree and license eligibility.
• CPA, Enrolled Agent, or CMI-PE certification required.
• Five or more years of R&D work experience required.
• Ability to lead and supervise others, provide exceptional client service, and maintain high ethical and quality standards.
• Ability to manage multiple projects with urgency and complete work on schedule.

Nice to have

• Master’s or advanced degree.
• Two or more years of supervisory experience, including mentoring and counseling associates.
