Information Technology Auditor (Insurance)

Location: Remote; occasional travel required. The role is U.S.-oriented and does not offer entry-level sponsorship for candidates requiring sponsorship now or in the future.

Compensation: $95,400–$192,000 annually, plus discretionary performance-based bonus.

What you will do

• Plan and lead integrated IT audits and examinations for insurance-sector clients.
• Execute engagements against defined scopes, objectives, work programs, and project plans.
• Manage project changes, budgets, invoices, expenses, deliverables, client approvals, and issue escalation.
• Build and supervise project teams, review reports and timesheets, and provide career guidance and performance feedback.
• Lead client status meetings, training sessions, webinars, and presentations.
• Support business development through networking, proposals, market insights, and identifying additional client opportunities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in MIS, Computer Science, Accounting, or a related field; MBA and professional certifications are preferred.
• At least 7 years of professional experience in public accounting or professional services, preferably with a Big Four firm.
• Insurance industry experience and a CISA designation are required.
• Strong knowledge of information-systems risk assessments, controls reviews, cybersecurity, Sarbanes-Oxley, Model Audit Rule, COBIT, NIST, and SSAE 16/SOC reports.
• Experience with IT security across Windows, Unix, networks, databases, web security, firewalls, IDS/IPS, mainframes, wireless, mobile, and cloud environments.
• Strong project management, analytical, presentation, communication, organizational, leadership, and client-service skills; occasional travel is required.

Nice to have

• CISSP or CPA designation.
• Experience with ACL or IDEA data-extraction software.
• Knowledge of TeamMate, Access, SQL, Visual Basic, Microsoft products, and project-planning software.
