TL;DR
Electrician (Electrical Maintenance): Maintaining and troubleshooting electrical distribution systems, machinery, generators, transformers, switchgear, cables, and protective equipment across a process plant with an accent on safe, compliant, and cost-effective operations. Focus on diagnosing faults, testing equipment at 33kV, 11kV, and 525V levels, locating underground cables, and restoring equipment to operating condition.

Location: Chibuluma Rd, Kitwe, Zambia; onsite

What you will do

  • Maintain electrical distribution systems, machinery, process plant equipment, and auxiliary circuits.
  • Install, repair, replace, test, and troubleshoot transformers, substations, switchgear, circuit breakers, cables, relays, metering circuits, and control circuits.
  • Perform diagnostics on transformers, motors, cables, Siemens MCCs, ABB switchgear, protective relays, and UPS systems.
  • Maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot standby generators and locate underground cables.
  • Carry out planned and unplanned maintenance, cable splicing, protection-device repairs, and equipment recordkeeping.
  • Support maintenance compliance and operational performance while following safety, legal, regulatory, and company requirements.

Requirements

  • Grade 12 Certificate.
  • Minimum Craft Certificate in Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience reading electrical diagrams and working from drawings.
  • Knowledge of ABB and Siemens protective relays, switchgear, MCCs, UPS systems, and electrical testing equipment.
  • Ability to drive a light vehicle and hold a current Zambian driver's license.
  • Membership of the Engineering Institute of Zambia (EIZ).
