Site H&S Officer

Location: Chibuluma Rd, Kitwe, Zambia; onsite, full-time

What you will do

• Develop, implement, and maintain the site Health, Safety and Environment Management System and related procedures.
• Ensure compliance with local legislation, company standards, client requirements, and applicable HSE policies.
• Lead hazard identification, risk assessments, incident investigations, inspections, and follow-up of corrective and preventive actions.
• Coordinate internal and external audits, training, inductions, toolbox talks, contractor screening, and HSE communications.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, half-yearly, and annual HSE reports, trend analyses, and management review presentations.
• Support transportation safety, industrial hygiene, medical surveillance, digital HSE tools, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Diploma or equivalent qualification in an HSE-related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in HSE.
• Working knowledge of HSE standards, including ISO 14001 and ISO 45001, and applicable legislation.
• Analytical, organized, and able to plan, prioritize, solve problems independently, and work under pressure.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, leadership, decision-making, and monitoring skills.
• IT literacy, including MS Office and LIMS applications; experience with complex databases is preferred.
