Analyst, Category Strategy Insights Taste Elevation (Retail Analytics)

Location: Chicago, IL — Chicago/Aon Center

Base salary: $77,800–$97,300 per year, plus eligibility for a performance-based bonus.

What you will do

• Deliver routine reporting and ad hoc analyses using customer, syndicated, POS, and shopper or panel data.
• Analyze shopper behavior and category dynamics, including purchase frequency, buy rate, penetration, cross-shop, leakage, and demographics.
• Integrate Circana, Numerator, retailer, customer, and internal datasets to assess category and shopper performance.
• Translate complex analyses into customer-ready stories and recommendations using PowerPoint and Power BI.
• Develop fact-based recommendations for distribution, assortment, shelving, space productivity, merchandising, pricing, and promotion.
• Partner with customer teams and internal stakeholders, improve analytical frameworks, and manage multiple projects and deadlines.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business, analytics, economics, marketing, statistics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Demonstrated analytical capability with large datasets and the ability to produce clear, defensible insights.
• Experience with retail POS, syndicated, or panel data and related analytical approaches.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data manipulation and structured analysis.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to build audience-appropriate PowerPoint storylines.
• Strong organization, time management, prioritization, adaptability, and ability to meet deadlines in a changing environment.
