Principal Research Scientist II (Process Chemistry)

Location: North Chicago, Illinois, United States; onsite role.

Salary: $141,500–$268,500 per year.

What you will do

• Develop synthetic processes for clinical drug substance candidates, including small molecules.
• Execute activities required for drug substance process development.
• Develop scientific strategies, timelines, and key project activities.
• Design experimental approaches to solve difficult scientific and technical challenges.
• Contribute to cross-functional project teams and collaborate with internal and external scientific partners.
• Mentor and develop staff while strengthening communication and collaboration across teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree.
• Experience in process chemistry and synthetic process development for drug substances.
• Ability to make scientific contributions and develop project strategies.
• Ability to solve complex scientific and technical challenges through experimental approaches.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills with diverse internal and external groups.
