Focus on coordinating Hanford Advisory Board activities, facilitating meetings, preparing briefings, and supporting communications in a regulated nuclear cleanup environment.
Location: Richland, Washington, United States. Work is conducted at the Hanford Field Office and Hanford Site, predominantly on-site, with some remote support only as approved. Evening meetings may be required.

What you will do
- Develop communication strategies and stakeholder engagement materials for DOE Environmental Management programs.
- Prepare public affairs materials, media content, fact sheets, briefings, and presentations.
- Coordinate stakeholder and Hanford Advisory Board engagement activities.
- Facilitate meetings and support communications for the Hanford Field Office.
- Provide general program support, including assistance with management activities and legal requests.
- Support transparency, governance, accountability, and mission assurance in a regulated nuclear cleanup environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
- 5–8+ years of experience in communications or public affairs.
- Experience with writing, facilitation, event planning, and media tools.
- Strong clarity, diplomacy, active listening, organization, and stakeholder communication skills.
- Proficiency with business tools, including Microsoft Office; advanced Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word skills are preferred for the role.
- Facility Clearance is required for team members; a DOE clearance may be required for classified work.
Nice to have
- Environmental Management Sector experience.
- U.S. Department of Energy or Hanford Field Office experience.
- Experience with Adobe Acrobat, data analytics tools, and Visio.
