TL;DR
Sr Analyst, Data Analysis (SQL/IP Geolocation): Researching internet infrastructure and network data to determine the geographic location of IP networks and maintain accurate geolocation databases with an accent on data validation, large-scale analysis, and network research. Focus on identifying anomalies, evaluating routing and topology indicators, documenting methodologies, and improving the reliability of IP Intelligence products.
Location: Remote, based in Lagunilla de Heredia, Costa Rica; occasional in-person attendance at work-related events may be required

What you will do
- Research and analyze internet infrastructure data to determine the geographic location of IP networks and related internet assets.
- Evaluate data sources, network indicators, routing information, service providers, and network topology to improve IP geolocation accuracy and coverage.
- Validate and monitor data quality, integrity, and consistency across large datasets.
- Investigate anomalies, trends, and improvement opportunities in the geolocation database.
- Document research methods, findings, and recommendations for knowledge sharing and operational consistency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to improve geolocation products, workflows, and data accuracy.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience in data analysis with large and complex datasets.
- Knowledge of IP networking fundamentals, including network topology, routing concepts, protocols, and internet service providers.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems, Geographic Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related technical field, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Proficiency in SQL for querying, analyzing, and validating data.
- Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and experience using Google BigQuery for large-scale data analysis.
- Strong analytical, research, documentation, and communication skills, including the ability to explain technical findings to technical and non-technical audiences.
