Chief Medical Scientist / Chief Biomedical Scientist

Location: Onsite at the Eurofins Biomnis laboratory in Sandyford, Dublin 18, Ireland. This is not a hybrid role. Working hours are 35 hours per week, with flexibility around the shift roster required.

What you will do

• Take overall responsibility for AutoLab operations and the standard of medical testing.
• Lead and coordinate senior and basic-grade medical scientists, technicians, students, and administrative staff.
• Manage rosters, workload allocation, task prioritisation, and urgent or overdue work files.
• Ensure staff training needs are addressed across all service areas.
• Support clients and colleagues while promoting open communication and continuous improvement.
• Maintain confidentiality when handling patient and company information.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biomedical or Biological Sciences.
• At least 5 years of experience in a medical testing laboratory, including at least 3 years in a laboratory leadership role.
• Experience achieving or maintaining accreditation to the ISO 15189 medical testing standard.
• Experience developing, implementing, and monitoring performance against KPIs.
• Experience recruiting, training, and leading medical and administrative staff.
• Chief Medical Scientist candidates must hold CORU registration as a Medical Scientist; Chief Biomedical Scientist candidates must hold HCPC registration as a Biomedical Scientist.
