Imagery Scientist (EO) - Expert (Remote Sensing)

What you will do

• Provide technical direction across the electro-optical imagery acquisition, curation, and preprocessing lifecycle.
• Integrate emerging sensors and platforms into existing data pipelines, workflows, databases, schemas, APIs, and ETL processes.
• Assess sensor characteristics, phenomenology, metadata, formats, security domains, acquisition latency, and platform limitations.
• Develop methods for converting, standardizing, tiling, and preprocessing raw imagery while preserving metadata, data integrity, and geospatial accuracy.
• Develop mathematical models for transforming labels across imagery types and converting between orthorectified and non-orthorectified imagery.
• Collaborate with SAR Imagery Scientists to align coincident EO imagery with geographic areas and temporal windows.

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI clearance and ability to obtain a CI/Poly.
• Understanding of collection and phenomenology, image formation processes, exploitation products, and methodologies.
• Experience exploiting the electromagnetic spectrum, including electro-optical imagery, to identify objects of interest.
• Experience developing, testing, and evaluating algorithms, processes, methodologies, exploitation products, and automated scientific workflows.
• Proficiency with Python, MATLAB, and Google Earth Engine.
• Deep knowledge of remote sensing, advanced imagery processing, sensor and platform capabilities, and communicating technical concepts to technical, non-technical, and intelligence audiences.

• Experience applying computer vision and machine learning techniques to EO imagery and intelligence problems.
