Principal Engineer I - AIOps ServiceNow Contractor

Location: Phoenix, AZ, United States; full-time onsite role

What you will do

• Define the multi-year ServiceNow AIOps and ITOM roadmap aligned with business SLAs, SRE objectives, and platform governance.
• Architect event correlation, noise reduction, anomaly detection, root-cause analysis, service maps, and dependency models using ServiceNow Event Management, Predictive AIOps, Health Log Analytics, CMDB, Discovery, and Service Graph.
• Lead the build-out and optimization of Event Management, Cloud Observability, Metric Intelligence, and Log Analytics, including parsers, classifiers, and deduplication.
• Implement automation and self-healing runbooks with Flow Designer, Orchestration, IntegrationHub, and custom actions.
• Integrate ServiceNow with observability platforms, cloud providers, messaging systems, and ITSM tools, including Dynatrace, Datadog, Splunk, Elastic, AWS, GCP, and Azure.
• Produce reusable solution designs, technical documentation, measurement dashboards, operating procedures, and quality reviews while mentoring junior engineers and collaborating with architecture and business teams.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in enterprise IT operations or observability, including deep hands-on ServiceNow ITOM and AIOps experience.
• Proven delivery of Event Management, Predictive AIOps, Health Log Analytics, Metric Intelligence, Discovery, and Service Mapping at scale.
• Strong architecture skills in CMDB modeling, data pipelines, large-scale alert and event processing, SRE, ITIL, reliability engineering, and automation-first operations.
• Hands-on experience with IntegrationHub, Flow Designer, MID Server, REST/SOAP APIs, and JavaScript scripting in ServiceNow.
• Required certifications include Certified System Administrator and Certified Implementation Specialist – ITOM, plus ServiceNow Micro-Certs for AIOps, Health Log Analytics, and Cloud Observability.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field and advanced communication skills; expertise in banking, regulatory compliance, cross-functional leadership, and governance is required or strongly expected.
