Senior Process Engineer (Liquid Systems)

Location: Jacksonville, Florida, USA; hybrid work with up to 50% travel.

What you will do

• Lead the design and development of liquid processing systems for food and beverage manufacturing facilities.
• Translate client requirements into process design scopes and deliverables.
• Manage scope, schedules, budgets, and coordination with clients, vendors, internal teams, and construction partners.
• Prepare and oversee P&IDs, mass and energy balances, equipment specifications, and process narratives.
• Support vendor package management, technical bid evaluations, FAT, HAZOP and HACCP risk assessments, and 3D model reviews.
• Support commissioning and startup while mentoring junior engineers and contributing to technical development initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Process Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• 5+ years of process engineering experience with liquid food or beverage systems, including confectionery, pet food, fermentation, dairy, dressings, or sauces.
• Strong understanding of sanitary design, CIP systems, and fluid-handling equipment.
• Excellent communication and project coordination skills.
• Familiarity with FDA, USDA, 3-A, and other relevant industry codes and regulatory standards.
• Ability to travel up to 50% for the hybrid role.

Nice to have

• PE or EIT certification.
• Construction support experience with RFIs, submittals, and punch lists.
• Hands-on commissioning and troubleshooting experience for liquid process systems.
• Knowledge of automation and control systems for liquid processes.
