Mechanical Estimator (Oil & Gas)

What you will do

• Review invitations to tender, technical specifications, scopes of work, P&IDs, plot plans, layouts, and project drawings.
• Identify mechanical and piping scope boundaries, exclusions, risks, and required tender clarifications.
• Verify quantities against engineering drawings, isometrics, and specifications.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates for equipment installation, piping fabrication and erection, valves, specialty items, structural and pipe supports, hydrotesting, flushing, and mechanical completion.
• Calculate labour productivity, manpower requirements, equipment resources, unit rates, cost build-ups, and construction cost models.
• Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors, maintain estimation databases and benchmarks, and capture lessons learned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
• 5–7 years of experience in EPC oil and gas, refinery, or petrochemical projects.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical equipment installation and piping fabrication and erection.
• Experience with cost estimation, quantity take-offs, and BOQ preparation.
• Ability to read and interpret equipment lists, P&IDs, piping isometrics, general arrangement drawings, and equipment layouts.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency with estimation tools and cost databases.
