Reconciliation Specialist

Location: hirify.global Place, 181 Bay Street, Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Full-time, onsite position.

Salary: CAD 70,000–80,000 per year

What you will do

• Perform daily, weekly, monthly, and period-end reconciliations of positions, cash balances, transactions, and reference data.
• Investigate, resolve, document, and escalate reconciliation exceptions with clear audit trails.
• Maintain, enhance, and test reconciliation platform configurations, matching logic, and exception workflows.
• Conduct root cause analysis of recurring breaks, operational issues, and data exceptions.
• Validate reference data and investigate data flows across investment, accounting, custody, servicing, reconciliation, and reporting systems.
• Support fund and system onboarding, audits, control activities, dashboards, automation, integrations, and operational efficiency initiatives.

Requirements

• 3–6 years of experience in reconciliations, investment operations, middle office, fund accounting, data management, or financial operations.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Information Systems, Mathematics, or a related discipline.
• Strong knowledge of cash, position, transaction, and reference data reconciliations, operational controls, and data quality principles.
• Experience investigating complex breaks, performing root cause analysis, and understanding transaction processing, trade lifecycle events, and operational data flows for private securities.
• Advanced Excel skills, including data analysis and management of large datasets.
• Ability to work onsite in Toronto, Ontario, on a full-time basis.

Nice to have

• CPA, CFA, or CAIA designation, or progress toward one.
• Experience with DUCO or similar reconciliation platforms.
• Experience with automation tools, workflow platforms, SQL, Power BI, data analytics, or AI-enabled operational solutions.
