Staff Site Reliability Engineer (IoT)

Location: Oak Brook, Illinois, United States; full-time onsite role

Salary: $102,600–$193,425 per year, plus benefits, 401(k) contribution, and eligibility for a short-term incentive plan.

What you will do

• Design, implement, govern, and optimize cloud infrastructure and platform environments at scale.
• Lead infrastructure initiatives from inception through architecture, implementation, and continuous improvement.
• Automate infrastructure and technology solutions, including PaaS and Infrastructure as Code implementations.
• Monitor systems, troubleshoot incidents, perform root-cause analysis, and collaborate with security teams on architecture and tooling.
• Develop and execute the infrastructure roadmap with executives, architects, engineers, business stakeholders, and vendors.
• Provide technical leadership, guidance, and indirect supervision to the SRE team.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field; an advanced degree may substitute for up to two years of relevant experience.
• 7+ years of infrastructure and operations experience, including design, implementation, disaster recovery, network security architecture, and engineering.
• Experience with software development, cloud platforms such as AWS, Agile methodologies, and Scrum.
• Production experience with Infrastructure as Code at scale, including Terraform and Argo CD, plus Kubernetes.
• Experience with observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, or New Relic.
• Experience with Linux, Windows, Active Directory, network architecture, and collaborative cross-functional work.

Nice to have

• AWS or other relevant cloud engineering certifications.
• Master’s degree or MBA, team leadership experience, and cloud cost optimization experience.
• IoT or durable goods industry experience.
• Advanced knowledge of network security, VPC design, firewall management, SIEM, and secure connectivity.
• Programming and automation skills in PowerShell, Python, Go, Bash, or similar languages.
