Senior Solutions Architect (Cloud Data Analytics)

Location: Columbia, Maryland, United States. Hybrid schedule with three days in the office per week and two remote days; occasional client engagements in the Washington, DC / Maryland area may be required. U.S. citizenship is required. The position may be contingent upon contract award.

Salary: $185,000–$285,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.

What you will do

• Design and architect scalable, secure cloud-based data platforms using big data technologies.
• Lead the implementation and optimization of data pipelines, ingestion frameworks, and analytics workflows.
• Provide hands-on technical leadership with Apache Spark and distributed data processing ecosystems.
• Architect and support data visualization solutions, dashboards, and reporting platforms such as Tableau.
• Define data architecture, integration strategies, governance alignment, and performance optimization approaches with stakeholders.
• Contribute to proposal development and lead architecture efforts after contract award.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship required.
• 12+ years of experience in IT, data architecture, or data platform engineering.
• Experience architecting and implementing big data solutions and distributed data platforms.
• Experience designing and supporting cloud-based data environments; AWS experience is preferred.
• Hands-on experience with Tableau or equivalent data visualization platforms.
• Tableau certification and Big Data / Distributed Data certification, such as Apache Spark or Databricks, are required.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting federal programs, especially DHS or USCIS data environments and analytics platforms.
• Experience with Databricks or similar lakehouse platforms.
• AWS Solutions Architect, DevOps, or equivalent certification.
• Experience with large-scale federal data modernization programs.
• SAFe knowledge and experience with Agile system development lifecycles.
